2. Information We Collect
We collect information in the following ways:
**Information you give us directly.** When you create an account, place an order, subscribe to updates, use “Track Order,” add items to your wishlist, or contact us, we may collect your name, email address, phone number, delivery and billing address, and any message content you send us.
**Order and payment information.** When you check out, we collect the details needed to process and fulfill your order, such as items purchased, order value, and delivery address. Payment card numbers, mobile money PINs, and similar sensitive payment credentials are entered directly with our payment providers (for example [Orange Money / MTN Mobile Money / CinetPay / PayPal — list the providers you actually use]) and are not stored on our own servers.
**Account information.** If you register for an account, we store your login details, order history, saved addresses, and wishlist or comparison items.
**Automatically collected information.** Like most websites, we automatically collect certain technical information when you visit the Site, including your IP address, browser type, device information, pages viewed, and the date and time of your visit. We do this through cookies and similar technologies — see Section 5.
**Comments and reviews.** If you leave a comment or product review, we collect the content you submit along with your IP address and browser user agent string, to help detect spam. Your email address may be checked against the Gravatar service to display a profile picture if you have one; the Gravatar privacy policy is available at https://automattic.com/privacy/. After your comment is approved, your profile picture is visible to the public alongside your comment.
**Images.** If you upload images to the Site (for example, in a review), please avoid uploading images that include embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Visitors to the Site can download and extract any location data from images on the Site.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
– create and manage your account, and process and deliver your orders;
– communicate with you about your orders, account, or customer service requests;
– send you marketing or promotional messages, where you have opted in, and let you unsubscribe at any time;
– improve, secure, and personalize the Site and our product range;
– detect and prevent fraud, spam, and abuse; and
– comply with our legal and tax obligations.
4. Legal Basis and Data Sharing
We only share your personal information where necessary to run our business, and never sell it. We may share information with:
– **Payment providers** (e.g. [list providers]), to process payments securely;
– **Delivery and logistics partners**, to fulfill and deliver your order;
– **IT and hosting providers**, who process data on our behalf to keep the Site running;
– **Professional advisers and authorities**, where required by law, to protect our rights, or to comply with a legal process.
If you request a password reset, the email sent to you will include your IP address as part of the reset link data, for security purposes.

| Login/authentication cookies | 2 days |
| “Remember me” login cookies | 2 weeks |

If you have an account and log in, we set a temporary cookie to determine whether your browser accepts cookies; this cookie is deleted when you close your browser.
We [do / do not — confirm] also use analytics cookies, such as [Google Analytics / Meta Pixel — list what you actually use], to understand how visitors use the Site. You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings; note that some features of the Site may not work correctly if cookies are disabled.
6. Embedded Content From Other Websites
Pages on the Site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, product widgets). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if you visited that other website directly. These sites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
7. Data Retention
– If you leave a comment or review, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely so we can recognize and approve follow-up comments automatically, rather than holding them for moderation.
– For users who register on the Site, we store the personal information provided in their user profile. Users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except their username). Site administrators can also see and edit that information.
– Order records are retained for as long as necessary to comply with our accounting, tax, and consumer protection obligations under Ivorian law, and then deleted or anonymized.
8. Your Rights
Under Côte d’Ivoire’s data protection law (Law No. 2013-450 on the Protection of Personal Data, overseen by the Autorité de Régulation des Télécommunications/TIC de Côte d’Ivoire — ARTCI), and depending on your location, you may have the right to:
– request access to the personal data we hold about you;
– request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data;
– request deletion of your data, subject to any legal or accounting information we are required to keep;
– request an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us;
– object to or restrict certain processing, such as marketing communications; and
– lodge a complaint with ARTCI or another competent authority.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at [privacy@akwamart.ci]. We may need to verify your identity before actioning a request.
9. Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your personal information, including secure transmission (HTTPS) and restricted access to customer data. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Children’s Privacy
The Site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.
11. Automated Spam Checks
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service, which may share limited data (such as IP address and comment content) with a third-party provider for that purpose.
12. International Visitors
If you access the Site from outside Côte d’Ivoire, your information may be processed in Côte d’Ivoire or in the countries where our service providers (such as hosting or payment processors) operate, which may have different data protection laws than your home country.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example to reflect changes in our practices or for legal, operational, or regulatory reasons. We will post the updated version on this page with a new “Last updated” date. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
